Qualifications
Through the Cadet Vocational Qualifications Organisation (CVQO), 1507 (Chester-le-Street) Squadron ATC and Durham & Northumberland Wing ATC are able to offer a variety of transferable qualifications in a range of subjects, which complement studies at school and college.
The following subjects are available:
- BTEC in Aviation Studies (achieved as a part of Master Air Cadet classification)
- BTEC Diploma in Public Services
- BTEC Diploma in Music
- Institute of Leadership & Management Level 2 Award
We also work towards a variety of First Aid awards & badges these include:
- British Heart Foundation Lifesupport
- British Heart Foundation Heartstart
- St Johns Ambulance Youth First Aid (Red Badge)
- St Johns Ambulance Adult First Aid (Green Badge)
Cadets and staff are encouraged to pursue the following National Governing Body (NGB) awards:
- Kayaking & Canoeing (British Canoeing Union)
- Sailing, Powerboating & Windsurfing (Royal Yachting Association)
- Walking (Basic Expedition Leader, Walking Group Leader, Mountain Leader)
- Climbing (Single Pitch Award)
